Milan and Como

Mandello Del Lario, a small town on the East shore of Lake Como is a 1-hour train ride or 90-minute car ride from Milan

We recommnend this travel itinerary:

  1. Fly into Milan’s Malpensa airport, arriving in the morning June 5th.
  2. Train to Mandelo de Lario, with a transfer at Milan Central station (“Milano Centrale”)
  3. Villa Confalonieri is a short 4-minute walk from the train station, about 2 city blocks south on the street “Via Armando Diaz”

You can also buy train tickets at the sation kiosks, but tickets bought at these kiosks need to be stamped/validated by the scanners before you board the train.

We recommend downloading the Trenitalia app for iPhone or Android - you can search and purchase tickets in the app, and do not need to validate these tickets at the train station.
